What should I bring to the event?

You should bring Blue Cards for each of the merit badges you have tickets for. Please fill out these cards as much as possible before the event to save time at the Pow Wow. You should also bring some paper and a pen or pencil for notes.

Do I need to wear my uniform?

Yes. We are asking each Scout to wear their Class A uniform to the Pow Wow and the Duty to God Ceremony. We will ask that hats be removed inside the Chapel (sanctuary), but they may be worn in other classrooms / areas inside the church. If a Scout does not have a full Class A uniform, he should attend anyway.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes. Please bring your printed tickets to the event so that your on-site registration will go smoothly.

What's for breakfast & lunch?

As in years past, we will provide a light continental breakfast (muffins, juice, etc.), and hotdogs, chips, and drink for lunch. There will also be some snacks available throughout the day (granola bars, fruit, etc.). If you have any special dietary restrictions, please make sure we are aware, and that your adult leader is aware. We can help you get the right meals.

What are my parking options at the event?

Free parking is available at the Green Tree church. If necessary, overflow parking is available across the street from the church parking lot, and in the bank lot across the street from the church.

What is required of me while at the Pow Wow?

Because we will be holding this event in a church building, we will ask a few favors of the Scouts and the Scout Leaders.

1) Please try to maintain reverence while in the Chapel area of the building (where the Pow Wow will begin) as this is a reverent place. Hats should be removed in the Chapel. A Scout is Reverent.

2) The rest of the building is meant for socializing, having fun together, and learning. Feel free to chat, laugh, and have fun in the rest of the building. We simply ask that you still maintain a level of decorum that reflects that you are in a place of worship. A Scout is Cheerful.

3) Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do not drink coffee, tea, or use tobacco. We ask that if adult leaders bring any of these that they be left outside the building. If you need a smoke break, please step outside and away from the doorways. A Scout is Courteous.

4) The Pow Wow will take up most of the day on Saturday, which is when members of the church usually clean the building for Sunday meetings. Please help in keeping the building as tidy as possible throughout the day so that there is little left to do for the next day. A quick tidying after each class is appreciated. If the Scouts and Leaders in the last class could fold up the chairs in their rooms, that would be great. A Scout it Clean.

5) We anticipate over 100 Scouts for this event. We ask that each Troop provide sufficient adult leaders to help monitor the Scouts and help them find the right classrooms throughout the day. Because of class sizes, adult leaders will be required to help the Scouts pass off requirements of the merit badge. Scouts should be in a merit badge class at all times (except for lunch). If not in a class, the Scout should be with their adult leader. A Scout is Obedient.
